Furthering the Antler Obsession

You've heard it before, I'm antler-obsessed. I have a great love for stuffed moose that has taken over most of my closet and sought-after bed space. Great battles have been fought between the antler army and the polka-dotted throw cushion defenders. Yes, moose are determinedly 'uncute'. Yes, they're a horrible Canadian cliché, but I love them ^~ This love spreads to include all things antlered, read: deer, gazelle, antelope, etc. I think there's a definite majesty to a fully-crowned stag.

I was online browsing through some pictures of my favorite starlette when I happened across www.willoughbyphotos.com, Bob Willoughby's site of archival Audrey Hepburn prints. Something special caught my eye and sent my affections skyrocketing:

How cool is that? Apparently her deer was named 'lp'. I love the picture of the two of them in the supermarket together. I know that this will cause a ruckus with all of the animal rights activists who happen across this post, but I think that it would be magical to have a pet deer. Injustice be damned, in a way you'd be saving it from a very possible death at the end of a sport-hunter's gun. I wish that I had one too! :3 For now, though, I'll have to settle for decorative elements instead. It's a shame that there's no way I'll be able to afford any of these prints, however. They're running at around $1,500.00 apiece. Care to buy me them ^~?

In a dream world I'd purchase this set of four and showcase them in the loft in addition to the deer head wall art I wrote about before. (Pictured once more to refresh your memory). I love the statement it makes. If you love this as much as I do, rush over to Ruby's Lounge on Etsy and purchase one of Jennifer Khoshbin's delightful pieces. She has several different colors available, all with pretty patterned paper :3 Visit her wonderful store by clicking here: Ruby's Lounge

Lastly I'll leave you with a longstanding favorite. This living room is taken from the home of the talented interior designer Fawn Galli, out of NY. I love how bold she is with her colors. Green curtains? Love that! Of course, the true object of my affection in this picture is the deer sculpture. I adore it completely and am, of course, very envious. I'd love to put something like that in the loft but I need to finish everything else first to see if it'd work as an accent piece. It takes a very specific look to be able to pull something like that off. Of course, it's very possible that statement pieces such as this demand somebody who's willing to throw caution to the wind, and, in the words of an ever-patient Constantine on artwork, clothing & stuffed animals: 'just get it'.

Gorgeous living room with deer statue by New York designer Fawn Galli. Taken from her website.

I hope you appreciated that antlered start to your afternoons ;3
Have wonderful Tuesdays!
❤ Miss

Yes, I think that's where FG's room was pictured. I wish I could pull that green off!
